Treatment of acne...first port of call?

By: Derek Gibbons

Having suffered a little with acne and spots since childhood, I have some good advice on treatments for acne. In my experience, going to the doctor was certainly the most helpful advice I could give, as many of the over the counter treatments had no effect on my particular skin condition.

Having said this, everyone is different, and so it may be worth trying out a basic skincare regime to start off with. Such a basic regime may involve non-perfumed soap and a gentle cleansing routine followed by a matching moisturiser.

In my experience, topical acne solutions from the doctor could well prove useful; one which I found particularly effective was Zineryt.

Although many say that you will grow out of spots and acne, unfortunately in my case this did not prove true; they have got a little better over time, however.

Good luck!
